The girls cross country team had a very good night as they traveled to Clarke for their 4th meet of the season. Van Meter finished in 2nd place overall, their highest team finish of the season. Van Meter was lost to #6 ranked in 2A, Davis County who had a team total of 25 points. The Bulldogs tallied 49 points.

Individually, Van Meter had some of the best finishes of the season. Freshman Clare Kelly won her second consecutive meet. Kelly won the meet by 43 seconds (22:20) in dominating fashion. Mary Kelly nearly completed the 1-2 finish, as she took home her best placement of the season, 3rd place. Payton Rice was the third bulldog to finish in the top 10 on the night. Rice placed 10th overall in a time 25:31. Matti Rebelsky was the fourth bulldog to medal. Rebelsky took home 15th place to lock in the 2nd place team finish for Van Meter. Clair Lauterbach finished in 21st position to round out the top 5 scorers for the Bulldogs.

Van Meter will be back in action twice this week as they run on Monday at Nodway Valley and Thursday at Saydel.
