Emily Roberts scored 20 points to bring Van Meter to a 60-48 victory over Knoxville on Friday to finish off the regular season 17-4. With an 18-point second quarter, Bulldogs broke away early and ran up the lead to 33-7 by halftime.
Van Meter’s offense was led by Roberts, who scored 20 points (6 rebounds, 6 assists, 7 steals), including 12 during the fourth period. Natalie Barth tapped out at double digits, scoring 16 points (7 rebounds, 2 assists) for Van Meter (6-for-9). Clair Lauterbach (10 points, 3 assists) and Kelsey Roberts (8 points) each contributed multiple three-pointers. Also chipping in for Van Meter were Julia Rhoades (3 points) and Emma Barr (2 points). The Bulldogs host Earlham tonight in the regional quarterfinal.
