Clair Lauterbach scored 22 points, helping Van Meter notch a 71-45 victory over Clarke on Thursday moving to 16-4 on the year. Bulldogs pulled ahead early, claiming a 27-20 lead at the half. Van Meter solidified their lead with a late-game surge, scoring a game-high 27 points in the final quarter on the strength of a 16-1 run.
Lauterbach shot well from the field, making 57% (8-for-14) of shots attempted as well as 55% (6-for-11) of threes attempted. Natalie Barth achieved double digits, scoring 12 points (7 rebounds) for Van Meter (3-for-6). Kelsey Roberts (16 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists) and Julia Rhoades (11 points) each contributed multiple three-pointers. Also chipping in for Van Meter were Emily Roberts (6 points, 6 assists), Katie Wilson (2 points, 7 rebounds), and Josie Cross (2 points).
The Bulldogs finish off their regular season tonight when they travel to take on 14-4 Knoxville. JV starts at 5pm with Varsity to follow.
