Van Meter finished the game strong to earn a tough conference win Friday night over a confident Madrid team 57-43. The game was tied at the half and Van Meter only led by 2 after three quarters. The Bulldogs tried to keep the pace up all night while Madrid wants to slow it down and in the end the Bulldogs tempo wore out Madrid as they outscored them 22-10 in the fourth quarter. Casey Trudo made a school record 8 three pointers on his way to 30 points. Taylor Birks added 10 and Clark Fiala had 7 to lead Van Meter to a 13-4 overall record now on the season. Van Meter turns right around and take on a very strong Pella Christian team tomorrow afternoon in Van Meter.
