Van Meter jumped back into game action right away this week with a home win against Kuemper Catholic. The Bulldogs played 4 games last week and have 3 again this week so it is a tough stretch but hot shooting led to a comfortable 86-50 win Monday night. The game was back and forth early on as both teams shot it well in the first quarter and ended with a 17-15 lead for the home team. Van Meter extended the lead in the second quarter to gain a 34-25 half time lead. Then Casey Trudo caught fire! Trudo hit 5 second half three pointers and scored 19 himself in the third quarter and the Bulldogs outscored Kuemper 32-9 in that quarter. Both teams blistered the nets in the fourth and the game ended 86-50. Van Meter was led by Trudo with a career high 33, Taylor Birks had 14 and Chris Schreck added 12. Van Meter was 14-14 from the FT line, 10-15 from the three point line and shot 62% on the night. The Bulldogs are back in action tomorrow night at Interstate 35.
