The momentum of game one carried over to game number two as the Bulldogs offense repeated their five run seventh inning of game one with another five runs in the bottom of the first of the nightcap. However, they didn’t stop there, putting up 7 runs a piece in the second and third innings leading to the four inning victory 19-0. Every batter in the lineup tallied at least one hit and one run scored in the shortened contest with leadoff hitter JJ Durflinger collecting two doubles, three RBI, and two runs scored. Also having big nights at the plate were Carson Rhodes with a triple, single, and three runs scored as well as Anthony Potthoff with two singles, a double, two RBI and three runs scored. Brett Berg and Kolby Booge picked up three and two RBI a piece respectfully.
Mitch Pomeroy continued the momentum on the mound from game one. Panorama never got comfortable as Pomeroy only needed 34 pitches to make it through the four-inning contest. He gave up only two hits and struck out one in allowing his defense to work behind him. The win improves Pomeroy to 2-0 on the season while the Bulldogs as a team improve to 7-1 overall and 4-0 in the conference ahead of a big week next week in which the Bulldogs have six games total to include four conference games and a trip to Duane Banks Field in Iowa City on Wednesday.
