The Bulldogs wrapped up their season on Thursday when they traveled to Woodward to take on the Hawks. It was a first quarter of adapting to field and weather conditions where both teams struggled to get anything going offensively, but the Bulldogs did find a groove and won 22-0.
Defense was the key early in the game for the Bulldogs, stopping the Hawks 2 times on downs and a key fumble recovery by Sawyer Nelson. The offense began to click in the 2nd quarter where they established a run game, and Ben Gordon found the endzone on a 4 yard run, he also added the 2pt conversion to give them an 8-0 halftime lead.
The defense remained strong in the 2nd half, and the offense began to match the defense scoring twice more. Both scores were QB sneaks from inside the 5 by Rhett Pleggenkuhle. The offensive line kept the ball moving and with the weather/field conditions they were the key to the offensive success. Ben Gordon, Cael Trudo, and John Braun were key components running the football.
The Bulldogs finished their season with a 5-1 record, and showed tremendous improvement throughout the season.
