The Bulldogs jumped out to an early lead on Monday against West Central Valley. The lead was gained by a hot night shooting the basketball. The bulldogs made a season high 4 three pointers, and passed the basketball extremely well.

Scoring leaders for the bulldogs included:

Zach Pleggenkuhle and Jacob Blomgren each with 12 points
Alex Joes- 11 points
Max Gilliland- 5 points
Maddox Artzer and Taylor Birks- 4points
Ethan Leuthold- 2 points

The bulldogs will be back in action next Monday Dec. 19th with a rematch against Earlham.

Van Meter won at West Central Valley 59-7. The Bulldogs held WCV to only 1 point through three quarters. Lilly Thompson had 6 steals along with Josie Durflinger’s 5 steals that led to many fast break points. Lilly Thompson and Josie Cross were the leading rebounders with 9 a piece. On the offensive end, Van Meter had their biggest output of the season with 59 points. Josie Cross led the way with 22 points. Josie Durflinger had 9 points. London Wille, Sydney Rainey, and Lilly Thompson each chipped in 6 points. Emma Braun and Kaia Watson had 4 points. The 8th grade improves to 9-1 on the season with two remaining games @ Earlham on Monday and Home vs. Martensdale St. Mary’s on Tuesday.

The Bulldogs advanced to 7-3 on the season with a dominant win over West Central Valley. The girls scored a combined total of 56 points on offense, while allowing only 9 points on defense. The Bulldogs were led on offense by Shea Rhodes with 22 points, followed by Zoie Vaught with 14 points, Shae Bernhardt with 8pts, Maia Abrahamson with 6pts, Chaney Coppinger with 4pts and Maya Herman with 2pts. On the defensive end, the Bulldogs were led by Chaney Coppinger who had double digit rebounds, while Shae Bernhardt led the way with 13 steals! The Bulldogs will be back in action next Monday night at Earlham. Go Dawgs!

The JV girl’s basketball team improved to 3-1 on year with a 68-34 win over Grandview Christian early Saturday morning. The Bulldogs opened them game with a 12-3 run and didn’t look back. The team was really able to extend the lead behind a full court press which led to multiple fast break layups. Natalie Barth led the Bulldog’s with 29 points, 20 of those coming in the first half. Clair Lauterbach added 14 point and Emma Durflinger pitched in with 10 points. The Bulldog’s look to continue getting better this week in practice and will play again Monday, December 19th at home against Woodward-Granger.

Bulldogs Placed 2nd at the Dan Christensen Invite on Friday night Dec. 9th with 154 points. The Bulldogs had 12 wrestlers compete in the tournament. All 12 wrestlers placed in the top 7.

The Bulldogs got to an early lead against Ogden on Thursday night, and never looked back. The team lead by Zach Pleggenkuhle and Connor McCoy with 9 points each played a very balanced game. Defensively the bulldogs also were very aggressive causing several turnovers. It was a great win for the 8th graders, and they will be back in action on Monday Dec. 12th with a home game vs West Central Valley.

Van Meter wins again behind shut down defense. Lilly Thompson set the tone defensively bringing pressure all night and forcing multiple turnovers. Josie Durflinger led the way offensively for the Bulldogs with 13 points. Josie Cross added 9 points and London Wille chipped in with 4. The girls improve to 8-1 on the season and play Monday night @ WCV.
