The girls track team rolled to the team title at the Madrid girls invitational scoring 150 points. Earlham was second at 123 and host Madrid was third at 118.
The Bulldogs had a outstanding night in the individual events. Zoie Vaught won the long jump (16’1.5″) and the 100 hurdles (16.93) in personal best times. Clare Kelly and Mary Kelly where also double winners for VM. Clare taking the 3000 (11:29.28) and the 1500 (5:10.89). Mary won the 400 (63.89) and the 400 hurdles (1:12.55).
Eden Moore had a pair of personal best in the 100 (12.75) and the long jump (15’5.5″) to finish second in both events.
The 4-400 team of Nora Matt, Moore, Raegan Wiedman and Mary Kelly provided the only relay win of the night in 4:27.31.
Four relays finished second for the Bulldogs. The sprint medley (1:57.8) team of Ella Reimers, Shea Rhodes, Matt and Mary Kelly started the meet with a runner-up finish. Vaught and Reimers joined Raegan Wiedman and Charlie Harkins for a season best in the shuttle hurdle relay (1:14.86). Reimers, Rhodes, Kennedy Wiedman and Shae Smolik ran the 4-200 (1:58.14). The distance medley was also second in 4:51.88. That team was Kennedy Wiedman, Destiny Sparks, Clare Kelly and Brooklyn Fryar.
Van Meter returns home Thursday as the Bulldogs host the Dave Tapps Invitational.
