Strong efforts in the relays helped the Van Meter boys take first place in the class A division of the Gilbert relays. Van Meter edged out host Gilbert 132 to 129. Roland Story was third with 122.5.
The Bulldogs took first in 4 relays on a warm windy afternoon. The 4-800 team of Creighton Netten, Dustin Barth, Matt Kerber and Aydn Netten ran 8:45.60 for the win. Barth joined Jack Pettit, Ganon Archer and Casey Trudo to take the distance medley in 3:54.31. Archer and Pettit teamed up with Taylor Birks and Caden Peterson to win the 4-200 in 1:35.35. In the shuttle hurdle Ryan Fisher, Ben Gilliland, Birks and Trudo ran 1:04.35 to take the win. The 4-400 relay took second for VM.
Aydn Netten was the only individual winner for the Bulldogs taking the 800 in 2:10.42. Matt Kerber was second in the same event running a personal best 2:12.53. Barth was second in the 1600 (4:54) and Archer took second in the high jump (6’0″). Fisher also took secod in the 110 highs (16.95).
Van Meter host the Dave Tapps Invitational on Thursday.
