Bulldogs News · Van Meter Boys Win 4th Straight Meet


The Van Meter boys won their 4th straight track meet by capturing the team title of the Dave Tapps Invitational. The boys finished with 143 points. Madrid was second with 131 points.

Jack Trudo swept the 1600 (4:48.28) and the 3200 meter race (10:21.83). Anthony Lowman captured the 200 (23.17) meter title. Carson Rhodes was second in the 200 (23.39). Sam Thompson finisished first in the 110 meter hurdles (15.55). Connor Guess also placed second in the shot (50’04.5″)

Van Meter’s 4-100 relay team of Zach Drummond, Thompson, Lowman and Rhodes posted a season best time of 45.17 to take first place.

The shuttle hurdle team of Owen Jones, Noah Hale, Lowman and Thompson finished 2nd in a new school record time of 1:01.13.

The 4-200 relay team of Hunter Coyle, Drummond, Anthony Potthoff and Rhodes finished second in 1:35.9.

The Bulldogs travel to Ogden next Tuesday to compete in the WCAC championship meet. Events start at 4:00 PM
