The boys track team started their season at the Earlham Early Bird Invitational. No team score were kept.
The boys sprint medley relay ran 1:42.04 to top the old school record by over a second. Sam Thompson and Ian Abrahamson ran the 100’s, Hunter Coyle the 200 and Zach Drummond anchored the new record. The quartet finished 3rd.
The Bulldogs finished first in two field events with Connor Guess winning the shot with a throw of 47’5″ and Carson Rhodes captured the long jump with a leap of 19’3″.
On the track Van Meter finished first in the 110 hurdles with Sam Thompson running 16.12. The Shuttle Hurdle Relay won in a time of 1:03.73 and the 4-100 relay finished first in a time of 45.81. Sam Thompson, Anthony Lowman and Owen Jones ran on both relay. Noah Hale was the 4th member of the SH team and Carson Rhodes anchored the 4-100 team.
Jack Trudo was second in both the 3200 and the 1600. The 4-200 team of Cody Coffman, Zach Drummond, Hunter Coyle and Carson Rhodes also finished in second place.
The boys return to action next Tuesday at Adel with the meet starting at 4:30.
