Bulldogs lose late to Martensdale St. Mary’s 6-4.

Van Meter tied the game at six in the top half of the 6th on a Lilly Thompson RBI single on Tuesday night. Martensdale then answered with two quick baserunners on a walk and a double. They would both come across on a wild pitch making the score 6-4 which would be the final.

Van Meter got two runs in the 1st when Meagan Blomgren led off the game with a triple. She was driven in on an RBI single from sister Mackenzie Blomgren. Mackenzie would score on wild pitch. The Bulldogs added a run in the 5th when Abby Archer drove in Mackenzie Blomgren. Van Meter was led at the plate by Mackenzie Blomgren who went 3-4, 3 singles, 2 runs, and a stolen base.

In the circle, Bailey Harding was the losing pitcher (9-6). She threw 6 innings, allowing 6 runs, 4 earned, on 8 hits, with 3 walks, and 2 strike outs.

Van Meter is now 12-9 overall. The Bulldogs are in action Thursday night against #7 Collins-Maxwell/Baxter @ Baxter.
