Game Recap

Van Meter defeated Madrid Tuesday night 4-1.

The Bulldogs got a big two run single in the 6th inning by Emma Durflinger to give the Bulldogs the 4-1 lead that would hold and become the final. Van Meter scored one run in the 1st when Meagan Blomgren walked and reached third on two stolen bases. She was driven in on a ground ball from Haley Forret. In the 3rd, Haley Forret doubled with two outs to drive in Lilly Thompson making the score 2-0. Madrid answered in the 4th with a run, but Bailey Harding closed down the inning with a big strike out. In the 6th, Emma Durflinger would put the game away with a two run single scoring Olivia Prouty and Bailey Harding.

The Bulldogs had five hits and five walks at the plate. In the circle, Bailey Harding was terrific in earning her 9th win of the season (9-5). She pitched all seven, striking out ten, allowing only one run.

The Bulldogs improve to 9-2 in conference and 12-8 overall. Van Meter is back in action Wednesday night @ #4 Martensdale St. Mary’s.
