The Van Meter Bulldogs JV and Ogden’s JV traded the lead back-and-forth on Tuesday, but eventually Van Meter Bulldogs prevailed 10-5. All the scoring came in two runs for Van Meter with five runs in both the second and fourth frames.  The game was tied at five with Van Meter Bulldogs JV batting in the bottom of the fourth when Ogden’s pitcher uncorked a wild pitch, scoring one run.  The four remaining insurance runs were scored on a passed ball, RBI groundout by Anthony Potthoff, RBI double by Kasey O’Brien, and RBI single by Harrison Smith.

Bryce Cole earned the win for Van Meter. He pitched one and two-thirds innings in relief, surrendering zero runs, zero hits, striking out three, and walking zero.  Zach Pleggenkuhle started the game for Van Meter. He pitched three and a third innings, giving up five runs(one earned), six hits, striking out five, and walking one.  Nine Bulldogs plated runs led by Cody Coffman with two runs scored.  Cole Rice, Kolby Booge, O’Brien, Potthoff, Pleggenkuhle, Adam Wallace, and Smith each drove in one run for the Bulldogs.  Pleggenkuhle was the only Bulldog with multiple hits on the night with two doubles.  The win improves the JV squad to 6-0 on the season with the next game being Saturday at 2:00, at Winterset.
